Groundbreaking ceremony of BBGI Fermbox Bio Company Ltd (BBFB) plant

BBGI Public Company Limited and Fermbox Bio celebrated a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony of their joint venture, the BBGI Fermbox Bio Company Ltd (BBFB) plant in Chachoengsao Province. This project marks the first-ever large-scale advanced biotechnology facility in Southeast Asia, highlighting the firms unwavering dedication to pioneering innovations for sustainability and development of cutting-edge biotech products.

The ceremony, held in Chachoengsao Province, was led by Mr. Kittiphong Limsuwannarot, CEO of BBGI Public Company Limited, and Mr. Subramani Ramachandrappa, founder of Fermbox Bio and director of BBFB.

Designated as a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO), the BBFB plant will undergo a three-phase construction process with a total fermentation capacity of 1 million liters.

The initial phase, focusing on enzyme production, will start with an installed capacity of around 200,000 liters. The facility will feature cutting-edge up-stream and down-stream equipment to achieve the projected fermentation capacity. The collaboration between BBGI and Fermbox Bio aims to establish a Biohub in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), contributing to the country’s economic development, particularly in the New S-Curve industry focusing on agriculture and biotechnology.
